My name is Chris Tucker of Dalton Georgia. Sadly my father-in-law, John R. Brown (Johnny) passed away on January 8, 2024. In the many years I knew him he mentioned the Vietnam war one time to me. I knew he had earned a Purple Heart but under what circumstances or unit he was in he kept that to himself. After he passed I found his military stuff along with photos and his unit. In looking at the photo albums on the website in the name of Mike Stanphill, B Co. 1969-70. I found two photos of a track at Cu Chi. The caption states "Outside Cu Chi testing a mini gun". The track has the name "Glory Stompers" I have just learned that his track was named Glory Stompers.  I believe that Johnny is the man firing the mini gun in the photo. In some of his writings he mentions being a squad leader on his track. The photos I have attached is Johnny at FSB Devins and he and a man named Lee Hart displaying an AK-47 with his track in the background.  I hope in the future I can upload Johnny's photos to the Triple Deuce website. If you have any information I or if you knew Johnny I would like to hear about it. We are having his service on Saturday January 20, 2024.
