Who Are WE?

We are members of the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry.

Our home was an M113 Armored Personel Carrier: which was frequently referred too as a "Track" or APC. It carried us, our equipment and supplies everywhere we went.

2nd Battalion deployed to Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division in July 1966 and operated in the Central Highlands near the Cambodian border. The Battalion was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for the Battle of Soui Tre in March 1967. Relieved of its assignment to the 4th Infantry Division in August 1967 it was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division and operated in II Corps and III Corps Tactical Zones in Vietnam until departing Vietnam in December 1970. One of 2nd Battalion’s soldiers 1st Lieutenant John E. Warren Jr. was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in Vietnam.

This is the general album for any of our members (or family) to post a small number of pictures in. When you don't have enough pictures for an album, or just found a few old pictures the other day, Consider sending them to this Album. Any picture of our Vietnam era tour, or any pictures of a Reunion are fairgame to be posted here.....send them as you get them. Add as much text as you want in a separate document. We can merge the picture with a long description and post them both together.

How we typically rolled out. We sat on top of the tracks, not in them. When we did road clearing, or jungle sweeps the we walked along with the tracks or as outriders to prevent ambush.
