In 1857 the steamship Arabia sank in the Missouri River with enough merchandise to fill a small sized Walmart.In the 1960s it was dug up (yes, the river had changed course and the ship was now farm land).  The merchandise found could have depressed the antiques value in the world, so instead of selling it, the finders established a great museum. If you visit KC, you can't miss the museum.
